Beans, beans the magical fruit

My diet in Rwanda has taken a turn for the worst. I’ve been vegetarian for about two weeks now. To supplement my diet I’ve been eating a lot of beans, eggs, and avocado. The last one is just for good measure. However, the combination of all three has led to a noticeable difference in the air quality around me. It’s also brought to light that I, and all the trainees and LCFs, are no older than 10. Fart jokes run rampant. The past two days in language class have centered around my flatulence and we have all learned the associated vocabulary, most notably, umusuzi means fart, and gusura means to fart(no to be confused with gusura, which means to visit). Hilarious moments of “farting friends” in different parts of the country are sure to happen when trying to explain our weekends to Rwandans in Kinyarwanda.

UPDATE!
I have cut down on eating so many onions (which come with the french fries) and the flatulence has decreased dramatically!
